My Travel Tracker Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 4, 2025
Thank you for using My Travel Tracker ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data, including the use of Firebase Authentication.
Information We Collect:
We use Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google, to manage user accounts. When you sign in to the App, Firebase may collect the following information:
Email address (if you sign in with email/password): This is used for account creation and authentication.
Authentication provider information (e.g., Google, Facebook, etc., if you use those sign-in methods): This information is used to verify your identity with the respective provider.
User ID: Firebase assigns your account a unique user ID, which is used to identify you within the Firebase system.
How We Use Your Information:
The information collected by Firebase is used solely for:
Authentication: Verifying your identity and granting you access to the App.
Account Management: Managing your account within the App.
Data Storage:
Firebase Authentication: User authentication data (e.g., email addresses, user IDs) is stored by Google on Firebase servers. You can find more information about Firebase's data handling practices in Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
Local Data: All your travel data, including travel information, excursions, notes, and other data you input within the app, is stored exclusively on your device. We do not transmit or store this data on our servers.
Data Sharing:
Firebase Authentication: As Firebase is a Google service, authentication data is subject to Google's data sharing practices as outlined in their Privacy Policy. We do not independently share your authentication data with any other third parties.
Local Data: We do not share the travel data you store locally within the App with any third parties.
Permissions:
The App may request certain permissions on your device to function correctly. These permissions may include:
Storage permission (to save and retrieve your data on your device's storage).
TODO: [List any other permissions your app uses, e.g., camera, location, etc., and explain why they are needed. Be specific. For example, "Camera permission is used to allow you to take photos of your travel destinations and store them within the app."]
These permissions are used solely for the App's functionality and do not result in any data being transmitted off your device, with the exception of the data handled by Firebase Authentication.
Data Security:
Google implements security measures to protect the data stored by Firebase. We also recommend that you take precautions to protect your device and the data stored on it, such as:
Using a strong device passcode or other security measures.
Keeping your device's operating system and the App updated.
Being cautious about installing apps from untrusted sources.
Changes to This Privacy Policy:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
